Creating a Business Plan

Price

$67

Duration

6 weeks

Course Description

In this project-based course, students will learn to create a business plan using the Business Model Canvas, a one-page planning tool used by entrepreneurs and small businesses around the world. This course is designed for new and aspiring business owners, freelancers, side hustlers, and anyone interested in turning a business idea into a real plan. Over the course of four sessions, students will be guided step by step through the nine building blocks of the Business Model Canvas.

In Session 1, students will identify their target customers and define the value they are offering. This includes understanding the problem they solve and how they stand out. In Session 2, students will explore how to market and build relationships with customers, including sales channels and ways to build trust. Session 3 focuses on behind-the-scenes operations—what needs to happen daily, which resources are needed, and who potential partners may be. Session 4 dives into money: startup costs, income streams, and steps to keep moving forward after the course ends.

Content will be provided to students at different literacy levels students will be able to select. The goal is to have as many students understand and reference the materials helpful in completing the canvas.

By the end of the course, students will have a completed Business Model Canvas, a short written plan they can share or pitch, and a personalized checklist of next steps to help them launch or grow their business. The course is hands-on, supportive, and accessible to beginners.
