WCCAE provides a safe, supportive learning environment where adults can receive instructional services and programs to develop skills towards careers and personal enrichment for life-long learning. WCCAE strengthens the community by promoting programs that are accessible, community oriented and culturally inclusive.
Student Learner Outcomes
Responsible Citizens
Essential Characteristics: Students are responsible citizens who educate themselves about issues that affect their families and their community and become involved in issues of importance to society; they show respect and caring to others
Essential Outcomes: Students volunteer in the community, participate in civic or neighborhood groups, help and assist others and make mindful decisions regarding issues, work and family.
Critical Thinkers
Essential Characteristics: Students are critical thinkers who analyze and evaluate information in a systematic manner, create workable solutions to challenges and keep an open mind while seeking what is true.
Essential Outcomes: Students think “outside the box”, demonstrate progress in language and life skills, organize and classify details, and research or contemplate issues before making a decision.
Hard Workers
Essential Characteristics: Students are hard workers who set goals and makes plans for accomplishment, demonstrate good use of their time, show persistence and resilience in the face of challenges and are dependable members of their families and community.
Essential Outcomes: Students utilize and allocate time wisely, are motivated to achieve goals and complete tasks thoroughly with a measure of pride in their work.
Good Communicators
Essential Characteristics: Students are good communicators who express their ideas respectfully and clearly through verbal, written or digital means, who listen to others and are able to discern non-verbal cues, who adjust their discourse to match the ability levels of others.
Essential Outcomes: Students effectively use technological, written and spoken resources to express information, gather and present ideas in effective ways, and collaborates and shares experiences with others.
