This course is a short- term, intense, 4 weeks class intended to provide students an introductory overview to the Dental Assistant Program. It is designed to also help provide completing students an added support of review and assistance in preparing for dental assistant exams.

Michele Jawaad
Michele Jawad is an accomplished educator and seasoned dental professional with over 30 years of experience in the dental field. An alumnus of the West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD), Michele has returned to her roots, dedicating herself to teaching at Richmond High School's Health Academy and in the West County Adult Education system.
With 18 years of teaching experience, Michele has primarily focused on adult education and college courses, inspiring countless students with her passion for learning and commitment to their success. Her teaching philosophy centers on the belief that every student can achieve their goals through hard work and perseverance.
Before transitioning to education, Michele had a distinguished career at the UCSF School of Dentistry, where she retired as the Clinical Manager for the International Dental Program. In this role, she oversaw all clinical operations, managed compliance with state and local regulations, and was responsible for ensuring a safe and efficient clinic environment. Her leadership extended to hiring and training dental assistants and sterilization assistants, ensuring that the highest standards of care were maintained.
Michele's deep connection to her community, combined with her love for teaching, makes her a valued and respected figure in both the educational and dental fields. She remains dedicated to helping students succeed and is proud to contribute to the district that has been a significant part of her and her family's life.
