Stitch in Time Sewing Salon

Price

$92

Duration

Course Description

Each session of the four-week course will introduce a new topic, such as buttonholes, sewing with knits, reading a pattern, cutting and measuring tools, pillowcases, flap pockets, finishing seams, and more. The course may be repeated as we cycle through new topics. Students will engage with the presented topic or continue working on longer projects inspired by these topics. This time is intended to provide regular space for sewing enthusiasts to gather. We will engage in collaborative problem-solving and sewing skill-building with the intention of creating a welcoming, ongoing community of sewists who share their interests and expertise with one another. This is not a beginning sewing course; however, there is room for those whose skills are newly acquired or a bit rusty.

Bono, Carol

Hello Everyone! I’m very excited to be teaching this class for the first time. My formal training as a sculptor comes from my time at the Academy of Art University where I completed a Masters Degree in Art Education in 2017. I’ve been a teaching artist at the Richmond Art Center since 2014 where I have taught mixed media, drawing and animation to youth both at the center and in the community. I’m currently a member of the Dogtown sculpting community in Berkeley.
