About the Course

The cuisine of Hawaii has been greatly influenced by Polynesian Voyagers, Europeans, Americans, Koreans, Chinese, Japanese, Filipinos, Puerto Ricans, and Portuguese. During this class students have a chance to experience different foods influenced by these different cultures. We mkae Poke (an appetizer made of seafood and seasonings), Musubi (a popular snack made of fried Spam upon a bed of rice wrapped in a strip of nori seaweed), Portuguese Sausage Corn Soup, Pineapple Chicken and Macadamia Nut Coconut Pie.
